Happy New Year everyone! I'm heading downtown and OC Transpo will be my free DD tonight. O'Brien's New Years Resolutions:

Quote:
Mayor Sets 2008 Priorities
Daniel Proussalidis with Gord McDougall
Monday, December 31, 2007

Mayor Larry O'Brien has some New Year's resolutions for Ottawa.

He's calling them the "three Ts"; transit, trash, and treatment.

O'Brien says 2008 is the year to complete the plan on public transit.

With trash, he says there's a five-year deadline to solve the problems of dealing with our garbage.

And O'Brien calls a residential drug treatment centre for the capital a goal for the new year.

With the Ottawa Police's street crime team going after the dealers, O'Brien suggests a treatment centre would be the other side of that coin to help addicts.
