Has something changed or is the Tesla factory still completely inaccessible from the Warm Springs station?

Unfortunately not yet, they still need to complete the new street that runs through the Lennar development and build the new pedestrian bridge over the train tracks.

I also found some renderings of the site that they're now prepping across grimmer from all of the other construction photos.

downtown South San Francisco update from last weekend...

Miller Ave, think this is the senior housing (#29 in the linked doc), with Cadence (#30A) in the distance

Airport Blvd side of Cadence

shroud coming off Pinefino (#28)

and showing its relationship to Cadence, in the distance

early work continues at the SSF Caltrain station, where eventually a tunnel will connect the Grand/Airport intersection with the station platform and through to the east side, which will be huge for station access

Some more South City pics:

The new AC Marriott:

And Genesis tower across 101:

The Cove is almost fully built out:

This is at the entrance to the Cove. Looks like a police station but is supposed to be retail:

Across from the Cove the "Gateway of the Pacific" is going up:

Back downtown, here's another angle on "Pinefino":

And the beginnings of the new Caltrain station:

There's so much going on hard to keep track. Here's some senior housing:

And the condos by BART are almost all sold:

Another major development near the planned community center/library has drawn controversy: https://www.bizjournals.com/sanfranc...-site-puc.html. The pitchforks are coming out against the "tower" proposal. Personally, I agree. I strongly support infill, but some of these developments (like "Cadence") are just huge, boxy and monotonous.

from last week, a look at a couple of the new buildings (one barely, in the distance) around the RWC Caltrain station

Burlingame's new building has also recently lost its shroud. (and the car dealership in the foreground will soon be turned into an office building)

and the former north parking lot at San Carlos is going vertical

Milpitas will discuss about the vaporware project of the Landmark Towers on May 9th. They are planning to reduce the height of the building from 280ft to 250ft, but keep it at 23 stories tall.

Hopefully this project gets along and breaks ground soon. It was supposed to break ground in 2016 and be finished by 2018-2019...

This is correct.

If this project does move along, I can see it as like the "entrance" to the Silicon Valley for people heading south from 880 and even 680.

It may not be the best project. Should've been built closer to the BART station, but it's high density housing, and we need more of it.

To be honest I'm not a fan of the Irvine style high rises in the middle of nowhere, have to drive everywhere model, and think will be a bad look for Silicon Valley.

It will be interesting to see. If developers make this work it should shut up all the developers complaining that they can't make towers of the same size work in downtown San Jose though. Milpitas doesn't have Cupertino or Palo Alto size housing prices, and with the recent surge downtown prices are crazy here.

I suppose someone will mention land prices though, but when these buildings are costing $150M+ to build the lot costing $25M vs $12M is kind of a small potatoes.

Still this will just mean more cars on 237 heading to Sunnyvale or MV, very few will be driving to Milpitas to take BART to Google in hypothetical 2025.

in South SF, Cadence is becoming quite visible from the current Caltrain stop (through dirty train window)...

and Pinefino also much more visible with the demolition of a building next to the tracks (perhaps related to an electrification substation, but not sure)

in San Bruno, they may be getting ready to demolish an abandoned building next to the 'new' train station. I've been waiting for this since the station opened, and hope we get a solid development there. no time to research it at the moment

there is also an empty lot across the street on the right edge of the pic in the distance

at San Carlos, besides the transit village in foreground, something else substantial is going up farther 'inland', just becoming visible

another shot of the new building in Redwood City

...
aha, apparently 111 San Bruno Ave W:

Quote:
Proposed 5-story mixed-use building with 60 dwelling units, ground floor retail and 86 parking spaces at the northern gateway to downtown opposite the Caltrain Station. The existing commercial buildings, including a vacant bank, would be demolished. It is anticipated that 15% of the units affordable to low and moderate income households. The planning process is anticipated to be completed in Fall 2018.

sticking with the Peninsula theme, a check-in at Hayward Park Caltrain. progress most notable at the northern end of the Station Park Green project

moving south, housing starting to go up around the parking core...

and the building to its south where the housing is further along

(still nothing visible in the station parking lot, which Caltrain was trying to get developed last I heard)

at Hillsdale/Bay Meadows, glass going up on the third office building

and the last bit of visible housing at the southern end
