Really nice photos. Did you feel 2 days' time was enough, coming from the LA area (I presume) ? I've been meaning to get up to Portland these days. but most of the time, the airfare for flights there is pushing $225-250.

2 days is probably enough to check out downtown Portland, but if you wanted to check out the areas around Portland, or more of the region, then you may want an extra day or two. I don't know much about the rest of Portland, as in what there is to see, but it was definitely a real cool place, and I actually liked it a bit more then Seattle, (which is where we spent the previous three days). Really the whole Seattle/Portland area is really beautiful country, and the drive between them is really nice if you wanted to check out both places.

Nice shots! I think we were out taking pics on the same day in a couple of those ... with the little concert going on downtown with the street blocked off.

Terrific shots, bringing back some great memories of my road trip a few weeks ago. There is a chance I could be moving to Vancouver for work and having Portland that much closer is a good thing.

I'm surprised to see this. We don't even see this old Saab 96 in Sweden anymore...nice. Portland looks like a nice city!

nice show, JSsocal. definitely a nice slice of life for two days' time.

nightsky, one of the things i've found most fascinating about portland is the amount of classic cars on the road. it rarely freezes here and they don't use salt when it does, so the weathering and general wear and tear of older cars doesn't happen as rapidly. being portland, VW buses are probably most common, but you see some nice old saabs, mercedes and the like, and i've even seen a delorean parked outside one of my favorite bars.

Thanks for sharing, I gotta get up to the Pac NW someday!

One question I have: Is there a friendly rivalry between Seattle and Portland? Ex: residents in each city believe they live in the better of the two?
