Green wit envy, yo.
I got NYC vibes from this set for some reason. DC's new architecture is looking good too. I love the shot with the modern townhouses integrated into the row of old ones.

#1 East Coast city I'd love in a heartbeat if I had to move out that way...just love the architecture in DC. Great thread.

Btw, how is the Asian food there in general? That's one thing about living in SF I'd find so hard to go without

DC is so strange. Even though it's the capital of the USA, it's archtiecture looks like a hybrid of Northern, Western and Eastern Europe. It doesn't look like it belongs in the States at all.

A fantastic set of a really interesting American city.

I miss that place sometimes. When I lived in DC, I thought the architecture was like a mashup of New York brownstones and Sydney terrace houses. The box-framed (forget the correct name) style is unique though.

It definitely isn't anything to write home about, but it isn't anywhere near as bad as the Mexican food situation here. There is pretty good Asian food, even if a bit more expensive than food back home, in the Maryland and Virginia suburbs, though. With regards to in the District (and for Mexican food: anywhere in the DMV; though, supposedly, there are some legit Mexican places in Hyattsville, MD), most of the Asian/Mexican food is largely forgettable, with none of it really standing out. Philadelphia and Baltimore have much better Mexican food, as does, increasingly, NYC - though none are as good as Mexican food in California The area on the ethnic food spectrum where DC stands out is Peruvian roasted chicken and Ethiopian, as well as Salvadorian, even if the latter cuisine isn't anything special.
