Is this going on the empty lot across from the Betsy Ross house? Glad that eye sore is finally being filled.

-Edit- Nevermind it's going on the corner of Arch and Little Boys Ct.

McBane--The Temple thread was one of the threads folded into this one. None of the myriad Philadelphia general development threads were getting much attention, which is why this one was created.

I just hope that that big grey wall doesn't end up being a big, grey, and therefore depressing wall.

The gray walls in the renderings are existing buildings.

This to me is fairly important in general reduction of residential parking requiement from 1 to 1 to 3 to 10

Templetown Updates 7.30.2012

Just highlighting some of the bigger projects going on. I will do a more in depth construction update around the neighborhood in a few months.

Pearson-McGonigle hall. Now practically complete except for some internal work. This will probably be the last time I photograph this for construction updates

The back of Diamond Green or whatever this thing is called.

What's the story with the parking garage, again? What used to be there, is it just another parking garage going up, or is it part of something else?

There used to just be a surface lot where this large (unrelated to PCC, funds-wise) convention center garage is being built. Of course, this is just parking being replaced by more parking, but there will at least be street level retail and a funky facade to make the garage appear to look less like a parking garage. All in all, this is definitely an improvement the existing surface parking lot since it will add more street presence (from the retail) and density to the area.

PHILADELPHIA | University City Science Center at 3737 Market

More renders here
http://www.3711market.com/3737market.asp

Floor count is uncertain, some sources list 11 floors, 14 floors and 15 floors. The renders very clearly show 14 or 15 floors.

Located at the northeast corner of 38th and Market Streets, the 272,700-square-foot building will feature outpatient
medical facilities, ground-floor retail, and office and lab space for start-up and growing companies.

Penn Presbyterian Medical Center will occupy approximately 155,700 square feet for orthopedics and outpatient
medical facilities. In addition, Good Shepherd Penn Partners will occupy an additional floor and a half in the building.
Subject to Penn Presbyterian’s expansion rights, the Science Center and its joint venture partner, Wexford Science +
Technology, will control the remaining 88,000 square feet in the building for other uses related to the Science Center’s
mission of supporting tech-based innovation, entrepreneurship and economic development in the region.

Construction is expected to begin in September 2012 with an expected delivery date of June 2014. The project was
designed by the internationally renowned architecture firm of Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects in cooperation with
UJMN Architects + Designers with the goal of receiving LEED Silver certification. The building is being leased by Cushman
and Wakefield. Penn Presbyterian Medical Center was represented by Geis Realty Group.

In addition to serving the expansion needs of one of the major medical institutions in Philadelphia, Penn Presbyterian
Medical Center, this new facility will expand the capacity of the Science Center's current research park, furthering its
efforts to transform its campus into a world-class innovation center.
