Love these art installations going in at the gateway. Especially the neon sign “Salt Lake City is for lovers.”

Had another thought. If we host the 2030 games, we’ll be hosting the XXX games!

Then the hookers we offer the IOC would really have meaning.

I've really missed Future Mayor. Having been gone for so long, without even a check in according to his profile makes me a little concerned. I hope he's in good health.

That's what I was wondering. I did see a user named "FM" comment on Building Salt Lake recently. Perhaps it was him.

Anyway I was curious as well about the city creek units so I decided to do a half-baked update of my own. I'm not as thorough as FM as my only source is the City Creek Living website, but here goes:

City Creek Condo update
Last updated 5/24/2017

99 West:
150 of 185, up 6; 81%, up 3%

The Regent:
136 of 150, up 2; 91%, up 2%

Richards Court:
56 of 91, down 1; 62%, down 1%

Total:
342 of 426, up 7; 80%, up 1%

Weeks to Occupancy: (at average weekly rate)
60% - REACHED
80% - REACHED

There are some interesting things to note.

One is the obvious fact that Richards Court in general isn't selling as well as the others

Another is that the units still available in 99 West are mostly on the west side of the building, the northwest units in particular are not selling well. The west facing units are the biggest on their floors (and probably the most expensive). The 48 west-facing units on floors 2-25 are only at 50% occupancy. The remaining 120 units from floors 2-25 are 93 percent occupied. 16 of the 17 units (94%) at floors 26-30 are taken.

In the Regent, all units (100% of 110 units) from floors 2-14 are taken. meaning all unoccupied units are on floors 15-20 (26 out of 40 units, or 65%, are taken).

That Loretta Young one is trippy. In person and on my desktop it didn't look like anything. But on my phone I could see clearly what it was.

The Loretta Young mural is my favorite, and not just because she's one of my favorite actresses.

That Gateway art is amazing, I love what they're doing with it. I haven't had a chance to get there in person recently but I will be sure to first chance I get.

I have a contact with Cushman Wakefield and when I inquired last February, I was told that it was going to break ground in the Spring. Well, Spring has come and gone, and winter is approaching. So, I sent another inquiry. I'll let you know if I hear anything. I am really hoping this one moves forward. I wonder if the Outdoors Convention fiasco has caused this to go sour.

Speaking of Gateway, I just heard from a close friend that their company is moving into the old Dick's Sporting Goods space. Nothing has been announced yet so I'll keep it vague. It's sort of an odd fit, as it's a biotech company, and they have several months of build out of office and lab space before they'll actually move in, but they'll be occupying the entire building. It's a fast growing company, currently around 80 employees, and likely more by the time they move in. That will bring more daytime folks to the area, and most of them will probably go out to lunch, etc. It sounds like the mall managers are really trying to improve the place. They are going to have a 24/7 "security guard" of some sort on premises to make the employees feel more safe, as I'm sure there is concern in that regard. Anyway, not huge news but since we were talking about the Gateway I thought I'd add some info, as it's rare I actually know anything about development that isn't public knowledge.

Okay. So, I heard from my contact and he says that the scheduled groundbreaking will be Spring 2018, and they have secured more financing for the project.

I could imagine a riverton music piano store somewhere around those piano keys crosswalks at the gateway.

That is great news. I think that Regent Street Hotel is a favorite of everyone here and I hope it moves forward. If we get our wish with the lot across from the court house that will be two new tall guys standing in our skyline starting construction next year. Feelsgoodman.
