Wow, you're flying pretty low there. What are you flying in? A hovering helicopter is the soundtrack of LA.

Wow these are awesome. Living here now L.A. feels so dense and gigantic. I absolutely love this place. Great set.

Amazing. I was wondering when a new "Above Los Angeles" thread was coming! It's been years since I saw the last ones, when LA Live was under construction and there was no Watermarke or Concerto either. Thanks a lot for the update.

Wait is it me or did the density just grow over midnight in LA??? Even 5-10 years ago, i don't recall seeing the mid-rises and highrises making the skyline seem much more dense than i remember. Yes, LA has had the standout trophy towers but i don't recall the cluster of mid-rises and highrises around the downtown core we see now. We always hear about Miami & Austin's skyline growing but LA should get more hype, especially after seeing these shots. Awesome job.

Amazing. Century City has a better skyline than most cities across America.

I'll just echo the comments of the rest here and say that this is an absolutely fantastic set. Your eye for angles is SICK and your pictures are razor sharp. Please please please never leave.

How on earth did I miss this thread. Awesome work. As everyone has stated, and the angles and perspectives are totally fresh. Thanks.

Yes, they have very similar urban layout traits.

There has been constant construction but I would not say there was a construction boom in the last 10 years. The pictures would pretty much look the same if this was taken in 2001 let alone 2011. I would guess that maybe there is about 15 to 20 high-rises total in all those pictures that were built in the last 15 years. Most the mid-rises around the core were built prior to the 1980's... many decades earlier. That said, mid-rise housing construction has been pretty constant from Koreatown to Hollywood for decades.

The last time i was in LA was back in 2001, thats why i was astounded at the changes in these pics. Maybe it was just me in my alcohol infused state where i didn't see things clearly. I'll just blame it on the alc-alc- alcohol baby!

Gotta love aerials, and this is a real eye-opener about LA's density. Love this shot:

Great set of pics, thanks for sharing them.
