Next to the old Penn Station, the Singer Building's demolition was a travesty. An architectural bullet in the cranium.

Funny to see what is a brand-new Stuy-Town in that last shot … almost alien-looking relative to its surroundings. I wonder what people's thoughts were about the architectural-style and overall layout of the complex at the time.

Great collection of photos! Looks circa 1964ish. Very interesting to see the East River photo showing all the smoke-belching factories in Queens.
