You can't compare the negative comments about the arena, Sky City etc. with this project. The negative Nacy's on those projects were just short sited, those are very realistic projects with very normal budgets and scopes. This project is not feasible and not sustainable even if it were miraculously built. If this guy was a multi billionaire and it was a vanity project then.... well not even then. Billionaires typically aren't that dumb.

My take on this is that this could take years to build, if some architectural and engineering firm is crazy enough to take on this project from an already crazy developer.

I wouldn't hold my breath of this actually happening, but I'm already enjoying the ride on where this will go.

I just need popcorn now...

There's now way it could be clear span across that length. There would need to be some sort of columns. Huge HSS tubes, similar to IGF roof supports.

Like you guys have said, it'll turn into a giant steel block. No sunlight or room for people!

OK, Turkey is the 8th largest steel producer in the world. They are also mired in various regional conflicts that are compromising the strength of their somewhat formidable armed forces. Maybe now is the time for Canada to start hoarding equipment and munitions to stage an invasion? Perhaps starting with a Putin-style destabilization might be a better bet.

Soon this will be all ours, pumping out steel 24/7 to build the monument to our glory, the one and only Dreamscape!

All we need to do is expand the steel plant in Regina. There is nothing but win for our province with this proposal. Get on it Winnipeg.

This will make the oil boom look like finding a quarter on the sidewalk. Pretty sure all of your natural resources will be acquired for this project for a minimum of 10 years.

I think they are just trolling, look how much attention they've got so far. That's pretty good trolling actually, jokes on us.

Right - because us having some fun with it is probably going to attract those multi-billion dollar investors he needs - wait, he already has those - but they're mysterious.

This proposal has been around for years. I remember it showing up as a kickstarter. I think the only reason it has made headlines is that someone in the news media reads this site and saw iajs post a link to it recently.

It's pretty clear that Murray McNeill reads this site on a regular basis, there have been a number of stories under his byline that have popped up a day or two after appearing here.

He got the ball rolling and then the rest of the media jumped in.

^Let that be a lesson to us all. We need to be more careful with the power we wield.

I can't wait to see what April 1st brings us. The bar has been set.

Note to others: I believe skyscraperpage has a policy not to post April Fool's jokes. We can link other sites as usual, but no coming up with your own.

Yes, Someone brought it up way back in 2013, I actually read about it hear. He's put in a little more effort since then in his promotional techniques.

Awwww I want this to be in Reginaaaaa ;c;

In all seriousness though, while I would like to see this project get through, I can't help but notice that nowhere on the website did they actually state where specifically they will built dreamscape.

It's good to be skeptical about this project though, since the timing of it is leading up to April Fool's Day...
