I see more than a few people are waking up from their Pilsner hangovers and realizing just how bad the Riders are this season!

That said I agree with Treesplease that a close game on Saturday would be nice, always more entertaining to watch but just hope the Riders never have the lead on the way of a Bomber victor -- the six in a row for the season and positioned well for a playoff spot. On the upside, when the Riders don't make the playoffs this year they can fire their entire roster a few times over and still have a team for next year.

It was a good game - and too close for comfort. The big issue the Bombers have is scoring in the red zone, a definite concern about Nichols that has been going on for several games. The can't be carried by their kicker forever.

Nichols would have been wearing the goat horns for that pic he threw to Cox in the last 30 seconds were it not for the Riders not having a challenge.

^ True enough, could of gone either way if it ended up a tie at the end of regulation.

The bombers needed a bit of luck to get the win but had we capitalized on even one of our trips to the red zone and had slightly tighter special teams coverage the score would have looked a bit more convincing. I suppose that's why we watch the games because we never truly know what will happen but the bombers let that one get way closer than it had to be.

Meh - the goat horns would be glued to the helmet of that Crap kicker for the Riders. Don't forget - even if that pick were allowed to stand with a challenge reversing the interference call - the game would still have likely ended regulation in a tie. Let's not even talk of his two previous shanks that resulted in 6 more points off the board.

Actually you're right. Riders would have found some other way to hand the game to the Bombers in OT and would have bailed out Nichols. Probably another Crapi kick.

I think the Riders got confused which team was supposed to win after drinking too many Pilsner. They figured the team with Willy and Dressler must be the right team and gave them the win.

Fixed it for you. After all, we've always heard complaints about homer reffing at the LDC...

The Riders sole win this season was due to reffing with a phantom PI call late in the game against Ottawa that allowed the Riders to move into field goal range. On top of that, there was a non-call on the rider defender shortly thereafter when he clearly pushed the Ottawa receiver prior to the ball arriving and this play would have put the RedBlacks in field goal range with seconds left on the clock.

What's wrong with Sunday? Sunday was typically the day for post-Labour Day football games.

I'd go either way but Sunday is generally a fairly quiet day.

Esquire, do you know if parking is available at the Agriculture Faculty of the University during gameday? Or is that all assigned parking on weekends?
Great idea VANRIDERFAN, but we've pretty much decided to keep the 2 rivalry games in one thread Please continue here. Thanks.

You beat me to it. $20 to park over by Ag.

Personally I find driving to IGF to be a hassle unless you get there really early... coming from the south also seems to be a bit quicker. I'd recommend the BRT if it's at all conveniently located to you, Vanriderfan.

The park and ride is definitely the way to go. From pretty much anywhere in the city.

If people want to see a bloodbath, attend IGF this Sunday. The Riders will be completely demoralized after losing such a close game. 57-22 Bombers.

In other words, the 1-9 record isn't bad enough? you think it should be 0-10?
Are you Jeffrey Orridge?

This Sunday specifically is a terrible day for anything other than NFL. Opening day down south pulls people out of the stands for Banjo Bowl. I have a few friends who didnt go to Banjo Bowl on Sundays, to stay at home and watch NFL. Nevermind all the people who dont go to games, but watch on TV.

Saturday for Banjo Bowl is perfect. No crossover with NFL. Get to indulge a bit more, without having to worry about work on Monday morning. Perfect fit, IMO.
