Some Halifax Shopping Centre updates:

- Spencer's is opening their second Halifax store in a portion of the former Pizza Delight space on the upper level.
- Motherhood Maternity has closed on the upper level beside Apple

Motherhood Maternity has moved around the corner... I think it is where Hallmark used to be, not positive.
As well, a new Games store has popped up in the old English Butler location. Probably a seasonal location. And Stitch It has closed at the HSC.

The Carrot Co-Op has finally opened on Gottingen. So nice to be able to get food in that neighbourhood now!

It's so nice to have worked to make that happen, the response has been overwhelmingly positive

I heard from a reliable source that H&M will be opening in Halifax Shopping Centre. Apparently they considered a downtown location but settled on the mall. I'm not sure of the time frame for this. Good news but unfortunate for downtown.

Glad to hear they will be opening a location this side on the harbour, but too bad for downtown. However they are a business and know where they will be most successful.

Any more word on Urban Outfitters, anyone?

City Streets is closing, or has closed all their NS and NL stores. Another victim of international retailers coming to the provinces, or just not adapting to the changing fashion times?

You probably know more than I but I don't think this has been announced and so it wasn't clear to me until this past weekend that it wasn't just another rumour.

I'm surprised with the re-brand of Halifax, we didn't rename it Scotiabank City

Well with 6B in profits they gotta spend it on something. God knows they're not spending it on staff (aside from sales-telemarketers).

I figure they got a deal by buying multiple signs all at one time.

Shouldn't "Theatre" be in a different font, in all-caps?

Excellent. Too bad H&M couldn't have been convinced to do likewise. I wonder if sister brand to UO, Anthropologie, will also open? (Both just opened in Winnipeg)

Source? I'm skeptical of all UO/Barrington Street rumours at this point.

On the other hand, online menswear giant Frank & Oak has confirmed that they'll be setting up on Barrington. This will be their third bricks and mortar retail store, after Montreal and Toronto. Huge!
