I'm actually trying to lead you somewhere with this: stop asking for other people's validation (some asshole might just say NO, then you'll be beside yourself). Find a better way to make yourself feel good, you don't need the world to grovel to you and good thing too - because it won't.

I really don't think men being different from each other has anything to do with their parents, porn or video games. People have different personality types, with some being less or more confident, articulate, aggressive, etc. I don't buy the argument that with enough effort anyone can be a Don Draper or Tony Montana. Nor do I think they should have to be to be given respect and feel fully integrated into society. There are plenty of men out there who aren't the deer-hunting-conversation-dominating-erection-at-all-times manliest of men, but they get by just fine in their careers and their relationships. Your attitude that men are deficient if they're not like this is what leads to anxiety, depression and suicide in men.
