Hey a little Vancouver won't hurt us. Im moderation, it'll enhance our skyline.

And at 136m tall, this remains the tallest of all the Montreal u/c AND proposed. That's right we had a rush of proposals recently and none if them will surpass this height.

I'll say it again, this tower is going to be a BEAST!
I can hardly remember the vast ugly parking lot that once stood in it's place.

It looks like what is presently being built is the 10 storey hotel component and not the tower, am I wrong?

It's just one building. There is one more floor for the hotel portion, then it's just the eastern part that rises up to forty.

I saw the glass in person Sunday afternoon. I think it is going to look excellent up against the skyline.

Oh by the way, did I tell anyone I was in Montreal since last Thursday?

Sadly, the hotel website now indicates a Spring, 2013 opening .

http://www.courtyardmarriottmontreal.com/

That's a far cry from the Summer, 2012 opening the developer promises in its website:

http://www.canvar.ca/en/hotel-management.html

I guess we'll have to wait another year to see what this project will look like.

Could it have been a mistake finally corrected? Meaning it was suppose to be Summer 2013 all along.

developer might be thinking to have it delivered to marriott by the end of summer, then marriott will fit the interiors and hire staff and that for the spring 2013 opening. just a guess.

I still have my doubts this tower will even be topped off by the end of this summer. Though I hope I am wrong. I am not sure what are the various codes and regulations for building turn-over in Canada. In the States, turn-over can be quite a process in itself. One major aspect to any type of turn-over relates to the various systems of a structure. They need to be tweeked and in synch with each other. From experience, this process in itself can take 60-days.

At least this tower is still moving forward...
