Nope, this is one block east of the car wash. (Google Street View - 390 Main Street West)

Here's what the site currently looks like.

Thanks for the clarification.

I hope that over time we see the car wash and all the other strip malls and sh*t get filled in with proper developments.

He's smart. If I had money right now, I'd be buying up land like crazy in downtown Hamilton. Once the downtown starts growing, and interest continues more naturally, the land is going to be worth a ton, and condos and rentals will be going for much higher than they are even now.

I'm tracking condos for sale on Realtor.ca and they really don't seem to be moving. Prices are either coming down or units are sitting for sale for months on end. It can only get worse with more supply of condos coming on the market.

The market is stagnating a bit. The other issue is that most condos in Hamilton are mediocre from a middle class point of view. People are waiting for new builds, like TV city and Platinum et cetera.

The market will inevitably pick up again, just as it always has.

one issue to keep in mind is that there aren't any condos in Hamilton like TV City and whatever else Lamb plans to build.
Our condos are dated, small, and lack amenities.

He could sell several buildings worth of 21st Century condos while our old stock still sits on the market for months or years.

For context:

Google Streetview

The proposed sounds like it would be a big improvement in terms of use of space.

Looks like this goes all the way to the corner of Margaret. That's almost 20 apartments per residential floor, which means a large floorplate.

This is a Lamb Development. I've updated the original post above with relevant renders site plan and information.

In typical Lamb fashion, bowling alley shaped bachelor's with abysmally small square footage. Smallest I saw from a skim was 302sqft. My favourite it the one that is 37sqm with a 20sqm balcony.

Looks to be 29.05m tall.

I'm not usually a Lamb fan, but this is great use of space and when Main is two-way, this will be a great walkable location (Dundurn, Locke, Downtown).

The design on this one I quite like as it's an updated MCM look, especially the ground floor integration of shapes and glass. So kudos to that. Hopefully it stays close to these renders and doesn't take the classic Hamilton u-turn.

I love the comically large sight triangle at the intersection for an urban site, and to a local residential street at that. Oh, Hamilton..

There's also a double thread for this site. Maybe mods want to move the few posts from this old one into the more current one.
