no difference at street level between a 14 and 40. Except economy of scale and density for retail and new residents.

not sure if this means anything, but TV City has been removed from Brad Lamb's website

http://lambdevcorp.com/index.php

EDIT: removed from his development website...but still up on his personal website:

$360 million dollar investment in downtown Hamilton and they want to downsize it by more than half.

it's the Hamilton way. Then we can complain that Trawna gets everything.
Yea, Toronto gets all the investment because it's open for business and wants the investment.

The 30 storey render is from here: https://connectassetmanagement.com/c...n-city-condos/

Kind of a questionable site but the file names for the renders have the name Norm Li in them, so they're legit. My guess is these probably weren't supposed to be posted on any website? Here is a link to Norm Li's website:

https://www.normli.ca/

Lamb kind of suggested that they would potentially pack up the development until the OMB hearing is done in about 2 years and begin sales again after a settlement is reached in his Cable 14 interview. I don't know if that's the reason it's not on the site, but I doubt it is any indication that the development is in any way dead.

Not Television City related but Brad Lamb related. The car wash at Main and New is currently being demolished.

That would be a great place to get something other than a low density car wash, and an abandoned one at that.

It is right in the entrance to the city from the highway, which is such a sad entrance.

Lamb owns that lot and has proposed a 20 storey building for that location, will be interesting to see how much land is there once all the buildings come out.

Plenty of stuff to tear down on that section, eventually it'll link up to Locke and maybe Dundurn to give a nice pedestrian loop provided main goes two way someday.

Please consider taking time to come to the pre-hearing and make a case for why this should be built. I'm planning on doing so.

What issue is this project actually going to OMB for? I thought Lamb relented and decided to go with 2 30-story towers, or is he still fighting for 40? Or is this coming from the neighbourhood instead of the City?

As far as I know it's on non-decision for the 40+30 proposal.

correct...city was taken to OMB for non-decision on 40+30.
I'm hopeful he'll stick to that instead of trying to appease the city with shorter proposals, but ultimately he knows his numbers and bottom line.

This isn't necessarily an update, but it offers some insight to the next OMB session.

Brad Lamb’s appeal against the City – the OMB will have to determine if they’ll treat it as a non-decision or a Council denial as Lamb filed after Councillors received the staff report but before they formally voted to deny – against the escarpment height limit and other planning policies will have its pre-hearing on October 26th, 10am, at the Old Courthouse downtown at 50 Main Street East.
The case number is PL180255, the case manager’s contact is on the LPAT website.
This hearing will be under old OMB rules as the appeal was filed prior to December 12, 2018.

Will anyone be attending the pre-hearing? I have never been to one but want to check this one out.

I will be. This project is one of the, if not the, most important to Hamilton's development.
