Shouldn't a geologist live out west? Just seems like geologists would live in the deserts and mountains of the west.

I find it interesting that when we see an urban ghetto the first thought is that we should help them. When we see poverty in rural America our first thought is to point and laugh. I live near DC and I could probably get disgusting and embarrassing photographs from 3/4 of that city.

Yeah, one of the more common double standards, in society and this thread.

Hey, poor white people chose to be poor. I mean, they must have, right?

I know it takes place in a different state, but I was reminded of this movie clip as I broused these photos.

Anyway, I do think Arkansas is somewhat underrated for it's natural beauty.
BTW, the pic of the cats on the trailer roof made me do this >

Theres many geology related jobs in large cities dealing with environmental geology and such. And no, most geology jobs arent out west, most in America are located in the gulf states, lots in Arkansas, and tons in Canada.

Beats me but I'd actually like to see more pics of the area if you got 'em. Just don't go trespassing on some redneck's property. Wouldn't want you to get shot.

I'm wondering what those "candles" on that frame are for. I count 11 of them. Are they flag holders for the 11 states that made up the CSA?

well there were 11 states and about 5 other territories claimed by the CSA before their fall in 1865 so i would assume that was the candles purpose.

so i guess the stools under the frame are the territories?

it's less tacky than this monument on private land outside of Nashville

Exactly, there are too many people on these boards who think poor whites in rural areas are just a subject to laugh at and than mention a tea party joke.

But...

When they see poor inner-city areas, where people are killing each other daily, they speak as if those people are kids, just misguided. Common sense? HA

I recently watched a movie called Winter's Bone and while it takes place and was filmed in southern Missouri, many of the locations, the homes etc, looked very similar to this.

Something about that confederate picture that's scary as hell. I don't know if it's the truck, or table with the candles, or both.
