It's possible, it's a pretty slim tower...

I still really doubt it. Doesn't the cement on every floor have to cure for at least a week (that's after it's built)?

Schedule

I think the tower concrete doesn't top out until around October...with curtain wall starting in the spring around May.

From over a week ago. They're already working on the 7th floor now.

Looking Great

I'm excited to see the Cosmo taking shape.

I especially like the small tower footprint which must be one of the smallest tower footprints in the city and at 28 stories it will be pretty striking. I think the contractor is doing about one floor a week.

The vertical inset cuts aren't visible yet and probably won't be until the curtain wall goes in. Those insets will help the tower massing.

I noticed that the 4th level roof deck steel structure has started for the roof garden units.

Tower Crane Lift

The first lift of the tower crane is happening today.

I think there is another crane lift in a few months. I'm looking forward to seeing the full height of the crane to get a sense of what 28 stories feels like in this neighborhood.

The Cosmopolitan is going to dominate the Pearl. It's awesome.

The crane lift was only a partial lift due to Sunday's strong winds. I think the crane will be raised again in another month- the current crane is around 17 stories tall.

So I just noticed, you can now see the crane in the background of the Park Avenue West construction webcam.

I really hope the Pearl keeps adding high rise density. I know there has been some push back once a building sells condos based on views, but Portland is a dynamic city. The Pearl is an especially dynamic area within the city. I hope it continues to exemplify dense urban living.

I wouldn't mind seeing a cluster of towers in North Pearl.

Progress

The tower concrete is up to the 13th Floor. Additional floors are poured about one a week.

Benson starts installing the glass curtain wall next week. Glass starts at the ground floor. Can't wait to see how the glass looks.

GREAT SHOT!!! That really puts things in perspective. It's so good to see the north Pearl filling in so nicely.
