Welcome to the forum. Thanks for the post. What do the different shades of color represent?

The dark orange teardrops represent construction jobs under way.
The beige ones are planned in permitting process.
By clicking on the teardrops site specific information about the job comes up.
There's several sites over 50 floors planned, a couple up 5th ave by the Westin.

The two-tower 1200 Stewart project got drill rigs last week, which sounds like shoring will start. That's twin 44-story residentials and multiple retail levels. They're updating the permits to go from 40 to 44 stories and delete a below-grade parking level...something like 1,000 units and 700 spaces though I'm confused about versions (might be more like 900 units?).

The 40-story 600 Wall apartments fenced, removed the parking lot equipment and a giant billboard, and added signage. No activity yet but they said they hope to start shoring mid-month a couple weeks ago.

The 40-story 2014 Fairview apartments got a revised shoring permit I think a couple weeks ago (reducing the below-grade parking) and has a tiny excavator onsite that might be related to utility relocations. They tore down the former building months ago.

The two 33-story apartments at 707 Terry could be days from a shoring permit, though it's unclear. Fencing and equipment are onsite.

(The City of Seattle just adopted a HORRIBLE website for tracking these things. You can't watch the progress of an individual permit anymore...it's just "reviews in process" until it happens.)
Quoting my own post from May. We may now have six significant residential tower starts since that post.

2014 Fairview is fenced and they're prodding at things but it hasn't started.

707 Terry I haven't heard about actual shoring yet, just site prep starting a couple weeks ago. Awaiting a report.

The 30-story 800 Columbia residential job fenced and parked equipment last week. That appears to signal site prep.

The other three are all well underway, with significant shored excavations.

Indeed could take big chunk of new Seattle tower, sources say

By ABJ staff
Sep 5, 2018, 1:58pm CDT

Even as it gobbles up real estate across Austin, homegrown job-placement website Indeed Inc. appears to be taking a big bit out of the Emerald City.

Marc Stiles with Puget Sound Business Journal reports, according to three unnamed sources, that Austin-based Indeed is negotiating to lease about 200,000 square feet at 2+U, a 38-story skyscraper under construction in downtown Seattle.

Seattle via CTBUH as of 02-03-2019. Proposed and u/c. Although I think the CTBUH is off given how many are currently u/c. Possibly proposals not being categorized as u/c.

They have a number of inaccuracies. Without getting into all of them, based on a quick look, additional projects under construction are:
--2014 Fairview (bottomed out, has tower crane).
--Third & Lenora (about 14 floors up).
--1200 Stewart (a couple floors into the ground).
--1200 Stewart 2...ps these used the recent 10% upzone so they'll be more like 484'.
--Amazon tower IV.
--1101 8th (a couple floors into the ground).
--1101 8th 2 (likewise).
--707 Terry (bottomed out, tower crane up).
--707 Terry 2.
--Block 18 (probably bottomed out).

Makes sense now. Quite impressive. Not to mention the countless mid rises. I just hope it continues for years to come. The momentum that is. And maybe the first super tall (4/C). Seattle's about due for a super tall.

  • Green roof on top is complete.
  • The building exterior is mainly done, but there two small hoists on the Virginia St side and some scaffolding on the Terry Ave & Stewart St side for the remaining construction.
  • Terry Ave has been reduced to one thru lane, with a drop off area for Building Cure.

All of those "Pre-Prep Demo/Site Prep" projects are well into shoring.

Columbia Center Podium Remodel
By JOURNAL STAFF

The four-level base of Seattle's tallest tower has received a makeover.

The 14-month tenant improvement project at Columbia Center, located at 700 Fourth Ave., had to work around 10,000 tenants, food court diners and tourists per day. Every business and major entry was kept open.

Two existing elevators were extended down two floors to serve as an express to the observation level. A concrete deck was added, along with a grand staircase with seating.

The Fourth Avenue main entrance was rebuilt as a three-story glass vestibule addition, with three stories of curtainwall and a living wall.

Kind of like a mix between a mall food court and a Marriott lobby. Oh wait, that's the RenCen.
