My Google Sketchup Airport I

Hello!

I've been designing an airport on Sketchup, and I've really been starting to like it. I've started with the terminal, and I think I'm going to keep building until the entire airport is finished. It is either located for a small Southern California city or a small city in Florida or the Caribbean. I've decided to start working on an airport, because that's just the area where I'm the most knowledgable and creative. I may create more terminal designs later on, as the scale for the one I'm working on is...well, off. Anyway, screenshots are coming soon!

Anthony

Yeegads, I've decided to start over...this one just isn't working the way I would've liked it to. Sorry to tease you all so much, I'm not the one who likes doing this at all .

I'll still have the model in case I want to continue it later or you want to see more pics.

Oh, lol, re-reading my post, it makes it sounds like I don't like creating airports. I love building them, I just don't like teasing, lol. Sorry about that.

Anyway, I've been working on this new airport for the past 4 hours, and it's coming along great! Almost ready for screenshots!

HOLY MEGA SUPER UPDATE:

This new airport is waayyyyy more complex. I've started with the terminal building main concourse and aircraft gates with the ticket counters/baggage claim/etc. still in the works. But it is COMPLETELY furnished with everything I can think of in an airport. This airport is located in So-Cal, near the Arizona border just east of Palm Springs. Now for the pics! I got 10 of 'em

Plus schedule!

"On the rooftops"

"Overhead view"

"In the Terminal"

"Loungin' round Gate 2"

"Just in case you gotta go..."

"There's no such thing as an Airport without a super-sleazy Taco joint"

"Moving down toward Gate 4"

"I'm leavin' on a Jet Plane"

"US Airways Gate 5 area"

"Walking back home..."

Schedule:
Gate 1: American Eagle - 8x ERJ-135s to Los Angeles
Gate 2: Horizon Air - 4x CRJ-700s to Seattle, 3x Daily Dash 8 Q400s to Portland
Gate 3: Delta - 5x CRJ-200s, 2x 737-800s, and 1x MD-90 to Salt Lake City
Gate 4: United - 4x 737-300s, 4x CRJ-700s to Denver; 1 CRJ-700 to Chicago
Gate 5: US Airways - 15x Dash-8 Q200s to Phoenix, 8x Dash-8 Q200s to Las Vegas

That concludes the update for now. Things to expect in the future:

-Finished Terminal
-Hangars
-General Aviation area
-Cargo area
-Runway(s)
-Military base?

That's all folks!

Also, to give credit where credit is due:

WilliamT designed the aircraft, which I slightly modified.
The moving walkways were found on 3D Warehouse.
The Tables at "El Awesome!" were found on 3D Warehouse.
The thingys at the top of the building were found on 3D Warehouse.

Other than that, everything was hand created except for the components.

Where are the security checkpoints?

A customs station would be cool too.

Nice work

That looks fantastic! I made an airport once too, but not at all this detailed. Any shots of front ticket counters or metal detector areas?

Oh yeah, they're coming soon. All I have completed is the main concourse for the terminal, with the ticket counters, security, baggage claim all coming soon.
