The Kitchen.

Well... on the way home I drove by the office and out in the front they
had at least two carpenters cutting wood and working on a small table.
The inside was also all light up with several people getting the place ready.

Now that I think about... that kitchen should be ready to go.

If I'm not mistaken.

I think the deal is that it will take quite a bit a time for each deposit to be made, with all of the disclosures, required signatures, etc. I imagine it will take about an hour per unit, just like if you were signing final docs to buy a home. If they have 500 units to take deposits for, that's 500 hours of work. With 8 sales associates, thats over 60 hours of work each associate. It's no small job and it couldn't be done in a single evening or even a single week.

Now let's just hope they take deposits for something relatively close to 500 units. I guess 400 units would be the magic number. (about half of the total units planned).

Ch. 3 news just had a story about 301 CM. They said Saca spent $20 million of his own money on demolition and wants the city to cut or eliminate the various fees involved with the project to make it easier for him to start construction. Saca also said that 301 CM is now a $500 million project and that he will shortly announce his equity partner who will be financing the majority of the project. He also mentioned that both towers will be 25 stories tall by this time next year.

"will shortly announce his equity partner"

We have heard that so many times in the last 2 years that the statement basically has no meaning anymore.

Just like how Aura was suppose to start begin construction "by the end of the month", every month, for the past decade.

25 stories sounds very agressive. I don't see how by March 2007 it will be 25 stories. But then again, isn't he going to use precast concrete?

Judging by projects I've seen going up here in San Diego, the longest part of the project might very well be the foundation and pile driving work, once the concrete starts going, it seems to rise pretty quick, take a look at burj dubai, the trump tower in chicago, or even the marriot in sactown, but I'd say he needs to get the project really rolling by june to meet such an agressive timeline, so proofs in the pudding and once the official announcements are made get that sucker going, cant wait to hear what brandon and los loobos have to say!!

This was made some what knowledge at the final approval from the planning commission I went to. The report made note of how Saca can negotiate with the city for reduced fees (like any other developer can) since it's was a such a pioneering project for Sacramento. That lady Roxanne Miller in public testimony pointed it out, in what seemed like a scathing way...why she did? I have no idea...idiot

Majin, you owe me $1,000. 621 has now officially broken ground. To me, whenever you post something, it just sounds like a little boy whining in the background. Why don't you grow some balls and pay me the money you owe me. You little bitch.

As far as tonight:

It was cool. My wife, Sugit, Los Lobos & guest and I enjoyed a nice evening. I was really surprised by how many young people (30 somethings) have deposits.

It was very informal, lots of food and drink to enjoy.

Floor plans have changed considerably. From what I overheard, they were able to reduce the size of the core of the building (elevator shaft/lobby) and in turn, where able to generally increase the size of each unit.

The model kitchen was cool. They're going to be very nice.

Oh, the gym will be California Family Fitness. I don't know if any of you remember, but in a bee or business journal article from last year, it was mentioned that the owner of Cal Fam Fit had purchased a unit, so it's not surprising they were able to get the gym rights. On the surface, I was dissapointed when I saw they were the operator, but I think it will be nice.
