Nice city and photos. But why are the streets so deserted?

Short, but sweet. I love Memphis's streetcars so much. We used to have them like that here, but tore them up in favor of the car and sold them to Mexico City, where they're still in-operation. Memphis truly has that bluesy soul that makes it unique and so appealing. Thanks and welcome!

welcome. thanks for showing a bit of the ole gal. that second shot, wow! i will interpret into an oil work. i could sit and look at it for hours. it captures, to me, that song "it's a wonderful life", ...here i go out to sea again, sunlight on my face, music in the air...no need to hide my face, it's a wonderful, wonderful life. on you tube, if anyone is interested. one recording is best for sound and background---the guy on the rings. although i haven't been in this very spot, i have watched both late afternoon and early morning just a few steps up from where this picture is taken. even though it is a river, there is something about the mississippi that is so big that it seems like a gulf of sea. again, great pictures, which truly emote feelings, and w/ me, a past that is happy and sad. love the perspective shots, angles, distance, vanishing points, etc.

yeah i know and it sucks. cleveland sold their streetcars to toronto, where they were used for years, until fairly recently. ugh. guess which of those cities rose and which fell off? coincidence? i don't think so. bring the streetcars back!

What pisses me off about Memphis is that at one time we had trolleys running all over town. One line ran all of the way down Central Avenue to the Country Club, which is a good 5 or so miles east of downtown. Now, there's just the Main St. line, the Riverfront Line, and the Madison Ave. line (which runs about 2.5 miles east of downtown.)
