^ We wouldn't see a spire height reflected in the DOB permits, but maybe something related, like the equipment to put one up. I'm hoping for a surprise.

Don't they already have a permit to have equipment up to 1860 feet or something like that?

I haven't seen that. The FAA study was for less, but on Extell's website they just keep saying the tower will rise above 1,550 ft.

I'm taking the "over 1550" to mean the 1569' number from the DOB filings. Of course a spire would be better...

That's the thing, why would they give a specific height of over 1,550 ft, as opposed to "over 1,500 ft"? And if that was the intended height, it would make much more sense to give that specific height (1,569 ft). Current docs still list it at 1,550 ft. Maybe Barnett is hedging it with a spire?

Already peaking into the skyline from the Allianz building on Broadway a few blocks away. There is definitely a blue protective film on the glass.

20 floors above the cantilever- progress seems to have slowed a bit over the last 3 weeks however. Maybe they're on a mechanical floor?

It is looking good, so many new towers in NYC in just the last three years since I left there. It is gonna feel like a different city when I finally get back there to visit.
