A ridiculous comment of course.

This tower is fine. Not terribly good, but considering some of the buildings that surround it--some of which are actually atrocious--it is a positive addition to the west 40s.

I maintain that this building is a big piece of shit. It's literally a box, with no form of detailing or character to speak of, the roof structure is inexcusable, and the cladding is of suburban office park quality. Don't even get me started on the base. The whole thing is an architectural tragedy.

On the bright side, it's big and at least it was built in an area that needs new development.

Looks like the stuff I see along the freeway in the far flung suburbs, just 4 times taller. uaarkson, doesn't this remind you of the facade of Top of Troy buidling? Fugly

I don’t believe it was built under the pretense of being an architectural marvel. It’s decent infill and contributes to the development of the area; that’s all it is.

People would like this building more had the facade treatment been given more thought...transparency would have helped.

Not bad, not great. As midtown expands westward, and this gets an increasing amount of company and becomes more of a filler as opposed to what it is now, where it's basically on its own, ill like it more.

In general, love the general westward expansion of the skyline though!

I like the funky base. It fits to the close by TS area, allthough it could have a passage in the middle to break the long block it sits on. The glass gives it a good filler appeal, but the top could have been executed somewhat better. All in all, itll be a good filler soon as yankeefan pointed it out.

The ugly mechanical penthouse on top makes it look even more like cheap garbage. Blegh.

Not a gem, but not a failure. A giant dark monolith that marks the start of the skyline's expansion westward. It was nice to see this one rise.

A bit above average filler imo. Not impressive but it works just fine.

It's filler in an out of the way spot.

Related likely will build something like this on the Waterview site.

I don't know what they were thinking with the advertizing top; but I hope it goes away soon.

As I see the structure as a whole, it best complements Trump World Tower. I could still envision this and TWT next to each other and the same height (TWT's of course), with both connected by at least one skybridge. That would've been keen.
Woulda coulda shoulda didn't................

I like the Top of Troy building... Growing up in Royal Oak and Troy it was the building that got me into skyscrapers.

Again... what is wrong with Southfield? I think the gold cluster downtown is one of the more interesting suburban office developments I have ever seen. The gold glass really gives the impression of wealth and power.
