I was just basing it off the height of the main pod of CN, which at ~1100 feet and in the foreground, should appear noticeably higher than Mirvish.

I understand your reasoning, but that would only apply if the pic was taken from ground (or lake) level. It looks like the airplane was at about 700 meters when the pic was taken, and we are looking down on Toronto. The base of all buildings farther away will appear to be higher up than closer ones. Look at Aura, tucked in behind CN, it's tip is almost at the height of the skypod.

Another Future Toronto Render: This one has only U/C (or in site prep) buildings. So far I have added (or finished off) Aura, One Bloor, Ice E & W, Harbour Plaza, 10 York, Massey, B-A E,
Ernst & Young Tower, Casa 2, U Condos 1 & II, INDX, Karma, X2, FIVE and Pace.

The next version will include more U/C and also Proposals.

Here is my newest future Toronto render, with as many 122 metre + (400 feet) towers as I could manage to fit in, and a bunch were completely or partially lost when other towers were added in, so there are actually more than what I labeled. There are approximately 80 - 90 towers added in or altered by myself. (buildings under construction for instance)

From that angle there's definitely more of a plateau between Aura and the CBD.
What a great load of additions to the skyline we're getting.

You can see the gap between FCP and M & G where there are almost no tall proposals... that's where city hall is, and the shadow bylaw...

That is true, but at least there is some infill that doesn't leave Aura standing out on its own.
