Condo deals in Vancouver/Toronto?

My other thread got moved to the Toronto section so it's as good as dead lol.

I'm also looking in the Vancouver market as well.

This seems like a good deal to me, but it's in Regent Park... thoughts?
$430K for 830sf 2 bedroom corner unit

Also, this unit in Vancouver:
540sf 2-storey loft for $450K

it's got as many windows as 4 one-bedroom shoeboxes combined. Only drawback is no balcony, and it's an older highrise (1998)

I'd tend to think that the only good tips and local/insider advice you could possibly hope to get on this matter will inevitably come from Toronto SSPers, not the Calgarians and Haligonians and whatnot that you'll find in the Canada Section.

I have no idea what Regent Park even is, how I am supposed to tell you if it's good or bad?

No one cares anymore. If you are actually looking for a condo than get an agent and drive them up the wall.

For one, I'm not impressed by your forum etiquette by restarting another thread in the Canada section under the guise of Vancouver and Toronto. People's interest here rest on development and boasting ones city. This is not a real estate forum. Also, your parameters are in the stratosphere. I wish you all the luck in finding that corner suite in a distinguished building for an affordable price. Again, any advice to that end has already been given.

One Cole (the totally-affordable example I posted above) or Paintbox, etc are hardly considered "distinguished". I'm looking for tasteful/neutral-looking mid-market buildings, not high-end ones.

It's clear the Canada section is the Toronto section as evidenced by numerous Rob Ford and other Toronto-specific threads there. Why would I waste time talking to an empty room here lol

And sorry for talking real estate instead of "city boosting" LOL.

Happy to report that I ended up buying a 620sf southwest-facing corner unit at Pace condos with a panoramic view of Dundas square and financial district.

Guess the price

^^I have the same unit as the above, but a couple floors higher and with dark wood millwork

Wink

Great to here! I can't even imagine living in a condo, just sounds crazy with how new most of 'em are.
