To each their own. I understand where you're coming from.
Many in SC communities want realism, as well, though!

Here's mine. A recreation of New York City. Incredibly time consuming and tedious, but still fun when I have the time.

I have a lot more photos but you can find them on Simtropolis in my City Journal. Not done yet, but hopefully I'll get a neighborhood or two done at least

Any recent updates for your city J-ho? I haven't touched the game for months, but just started again today.

I got a little bored with Sloanistan (I'll go back to it in a while, but just wanted something new on the side), so I started the new region of Kensington.

I'm sure you'll be able to guess what real-life city's geography (minus the mountains) inspired my new one.

Somehow I lost my region of 3 million. My computer would always freeze on my cities when they hit about 300,000-400,000 so I usually have a couple of them then smaller cities inbetween.
Now my region currently has I think 50,000 people. I don't play that often anymore. It's the only game that I do play but other things have taken over.

Region just cracked the 11 million mark. Been playing for about 4 hours/week, for about 2 years.

Kensington is now over 100,000 (region, but the city has 95,000 of that).

Testing out a newly downloaded Light Rail-in-avenue station downtown.

Uptown. A few different residential areas here, with commercial to the South.

New area around the university. I've since added quite a bit of suburban residential, and a large commercial strip along the water.

A small river connects the lakes and divides uptown from downtown.

A view showing more of the city.

These cities are all amazing. You must spend an incredible amount of time on them. I don't think I was ever able to make one big enough to support a good highway.

Jasonhouse: In this image at left center right where your boulevard has an interchange with a highway, there is a historic-looking white building with a spire, set at an angle.

That looks like it would fit nicely in some of my cities. I'd like to download it. Do you have any idea what it's called or where I can get it?

That is the Niagara Mohawk building in Buffalo, you can download it here. It's one of my favourites.
