I think you need to be a member to upload pictures onto Wiki, which is what I would recommend. If you can create a svg file of that diagram, that would be great.

Okay - any more errors or omissions. Anybody have the opening date of Columbia? I've added Evergreen line - route alignment at least, based on the Evergreen website. I think it's done. Comments?

There are provisions for a future stn at Boundary but I believe they never surfaced.

Surprisingly it was but I still can't find exact months other than just summertime. Does anyone else have further official info of those dates the demo line was used in '83? Here's what was said in a session of the 1982 legislature below. Unless they delayed the demo till '85. At any rate, lightrail you might have to change your info on the demo line to 1983.

The member for Burnaby-Willingdon (Mr. Lorimer) made a few comments about light rapid transit, really inferring that it wasn't proceeding or wouldn't proceed very far. In the past 12 months, in the fiscal year ending March 31, 1982, $39 million was spent on the prepayments for 114 cars for the system. Two of those cars will be delivered shortly. They'll be at the PNE, for example, for everyone to see. There has been a good deal of physical work, including drilling, as the hon. member said, of locations for the bases for the columns for the elevated guideway.

There was, within the last few days, a contract let in the amount of $11 million for approximately one kilometre of line, the construction of which has begun near the CNR station and along Terminal Ave. The guideway will be completed by September or October, and will be complete with rails and cars and operating this time next year as a demonstration line. So physically it's proceeding; financially, we're perhaps S50 million into what eventually, at least in current dollar terms, will be a $400 million or $500 million expenditure.

The first mention in Google News is from December 12, 1985, one day after the system proper opened. Then again, there aren't any articles about the planning or construction, so it's entirely possible that there was an earlier demo line that didn't warrant enough coverage for Google News to know.

ya its debatable. Either you but in both potential future stations on the E and M line or you put neither. BUUUT if I was to place a LONG term bet I would put my money on a Boundary Road station over a Woodlands in the next 20 years.

So I'm waiting to here back from Translink on the Main Street demo dates and on the opening date of Columbia Station. Also, I'm told that on September 7th, Broadway and Commercial Drive stations will be renamed Commercial-Broadway Station - so I'll be updating the map to reflect that too.

The walk from Patterson to Joyce is just over 10min if you follow the track. That means at the farest point you are only ~5min from a station, I just don't see any point ever in a Boundary station. There will never be the density that there is downtown to justify close stations.

for an average pace healthy walker , it can not be done in ~10 min, I would put it closer to 15 min

it's not a direct path either and the crossing of Kingsway is poor and not pedestrian friendly.

I believe there are plans to improve this as part of the BC Parkway upgrades.

the whole Skytrain "7-11 Trail" is a piece of shit. Its been left to rot since the E line opened.

Burnaby has done some work around Edmonds Station but that's it.

You would think they (translink) would rustle up a eco friendly sponsor like MEC or CanTire to sponsor the trailer/path what ever you want to call it to be upgraded and re light/signed, etc

Actually Patterson to Joyce section is not that bad. The Parkway between Patterson and Kingsway has just been repaved and brand new LED lighting installed. Then there is a bike friendly overpass over Kingsway that gets you to the Telus building, from there you go down Boundary to the pedestrian controlled light that gets you to Vanness Av and you are home free...
