The tunnel design 'Sego Lily' to Sugarhouse Park is progressing. I'd like to see renderings of what it will look like. I sure hope it's not more of the phaux red rock stuff. When designers use southern Utah red rock design elements up here, it doesn't fit. Do you see red rock within 100 miles of SLC other Red Butte?

I was there yesterday, and that's exactly what it is. It looks just like the stuff on the west side of the tunnel. Honestly I think it fits. Red Butte isn't the only red place in the area. Much of the mountainous area between North Canyon in Bountiful and Little Cottonwood Canyon looks that way. Parley's Canyon (which is right by Sugar House) is quite red. Much of the area between big and little cottonwood is quite red:

Red ledge golf course in Heber ... and believe this, most of the red rock ( the big stuff) comes from a quary not far from there.

I like the red rock design a lot, it doesn't feel out of place to me at all.

And it's not faux red rock. The rock in the tunnel is real. If it was fake, then I would agree with you.

There's a faux Bryce Canyon 'Hoodoo' near the west entrance of the tunnel. Apparently, all the stuff on the east side is faux, also.

Fits perfectly. Everything in SugarHouse, from the vibe to this new downtown area they're trying to create, is fake.

It looks to me like it's going to be a P.O.S. that we'll tear down in 30 years.

The first time we heard about the concept, I liked it -- even that model has an elegance to it. Building that shape out of the rough red whateverthehell it is, it's looking terrible so far. I was trying to be optimistic, but as the forms have come down, it's just a mess.

Are you sure it’s still supposed to be a flower? I drove by the other day and it looked like the southern red rocks that are on west side of the street

I don't know if this has been discussed already, but there is an rfp or something out for double tracing the streetcar line.

It's only for 2 blocks so that they can pass and increase frequency to every 15 min.
