Screw you Notre Dame for your like-mindedness with them (like-minded must mean "big schools with mediocre hockey programs"). And preemptively, screw you Arizona State for making a decidedly bad choice to go to the Big 10 instead of the NCHC. Bad bad choice, if they do it. They'd be such a better fit with us.

Off soapbox.
I was rooting for the school I don't owe loans to and Michigan. Now rooting for Minnesota's best hockey team. The East Regional apparently has a few goalies who may be NHLers as of Monday.

EDIT: IT TOOK ALL SEASON BUT WE NOW HAVE A MULTI-PAGE THREAD!

You know what can ruin an otherwise nice, chill, obscure Saturday night college hockey game between Minnesota Duluth (who?) and Boston College? Barry f'in Melrose. Will he ever die?

Also, nice attendance, Worcester. Are there no hockey fans in Massachusetts?

Oh you know, that team that outscored your team 11-0 a few months ago.

Oh, over two nights. And that was Duluth. I don't expect them to travel. Where are the Boston fans - it's like 40 miles. Are there any?

BC actually has a good following, but no one goes to Worcester when they can avoid it. Plus Spring Break I'm betting.

DU v UND? Well I'm solidly back on the DU bandwagon.

I'm pretty indifferent between those two. As long as whoever wins that game wins the national title, I'm good. I was raised to hate DU. Despite having given them a lot of money and living here now, it's still hard to cheer for them. Easier to cheer for the league. And I've always liked watching the Sioux, and now, they're the marquis team that isn't off in the f'in Big 10, so I feel I owe them some allegiance for sticking around.

See, I never even knew that CC had that much of a following in the Springs. It seems like CC was the snobby liberal arts school that was tolerated and everyone flocked to AF for sporting events because the Springs is 'merica.

DU all the way here. One has to root for the one decent sports school in the state that actually understands winning.

Two different Springs. CC's support is old Colorado Springs - old money, business interests, both liberal and conservative - the downtown, west side, Cheyenne Mountain/Broadmoor crowds. Real Colorado Springs. Plus the south/southeast, Fountain and Widefield crowds, which are also good CC hockey country. (To the limited extent the Army/Fort Carson crowd has any interest in hockey or the affairs of Colorado Springs, they actually align with this group.)

Air Force is the newer, more evangelical religious, more conservative crowd. A lot of middle class, some upper middle class, but the city's elite are generally not in this group (they use this group to get elected). Northern springs, as well as northeast and eastern parts of town.

Interestingly, a lot of Monument falls into the first group, because a lot of those people moved up there a decade-plus ago - moving far out, not Briargate-suburbia newcomers. It's why Lewis-Palmer got seeded with such a strong hockey program.

That's my perception, at least.

You like Qunnippiac? I've never even heard of that place, wherever it is, but I can only assume they're East Coast a-holes...
