I like this building a lot. That said, unless they have some kind of rain guard I can really see the doorway becoming a waterfall on a rainy day. Those angles will direct the rain water right over the door.

No worries about rain...some pretty cool canopies will be going in as well...ground floor storefront will be just as cool as the upper floors and will make the building look to be on glass stilts!

How close is this bad boy to topping out? Looks relatively close to me from counting the floors in that last photo.

Technically the building is topped out and all that is left is the ring beams which surround the mechanical floors...

This needs to be at least 200 ft. higher.

Oh, well. The architecture is great and the glass looks outstanding.

New York YIMBY:

Construction Update: 400 Park Avenue South
BY: NIKOLAI FEDAK ON NOVEMBER 15TH 2013 AT 1:30 PM

Quote:
....
While the superstructure has reached the roof, cladding is still rising – and it has a long ways to go before wrapping around the entire structure. Already, the varied angles of the tower’s glass shatter any complete reflections, resulting in a funhouse-style appearance of the crystalline skyscraper.

Completion of 400 Park Avenue South is expected in 2014.

Oh nice aerial view. I didn't realize this tower was "there" by New York Life. I guess my Manhattan geography is off.... following this tower for the last few years I always thought it was on some distant corner of central park!

I know what you mean, that little Midtown annex around Madison Square Park throws me off too.

Some perspective, as it blends in to Gotham...
