If you're wondering why Edmontonians keep feeling the need to enforce they are the capital city of Alberta (Alberta Capital Region, Capital Power, Edmonton Capitals, etc), it's because of people such as the editors of the Globe & Fail:

Actually, he is quite intelligent. I went to the UofA with him and sat beside him in Econ 101-409, but this feels more like he wrote something with an editor's touch...

As was aptly pointed out - he owns the article. His response to Ferguson and to Edmontonians should have been more thoughtful, respectful and apologetic rather than blame others.

^ Correct he should have been the first one to call out the Globe and Mail on the mistake. Intelligence is not the issue here - plain sloppiness and lack of attention to detail is at fault by both Scott and the Globe and Mail.

It's bullshit - fascist but supposedly communist Moscow at #4??? It's a corrupt, KGB controlled, freedom and rights suppressed city in a homophobic society controlled by the king in the Kremlin. Best??? Bullshit.

Tis BS, but just like all those other places that make hay from being on a best of list - I'll run with it.

Fun Fact.......World building count. kinda correlates with the new world city rankings for the City of Champions.

53. Shijiazhuang China
294 Buildings
279 High-rises
9,040,000 Population.....

54. Edmonton Canada
303 Buildings
274 High-rises
812,201 Population. Should be 1.35

55. St. Petersburg Russia
289 Buildings
260 High-rises
5,323,300 Population.

Edmonton punches way above its weight in many areas. Its really time to go full court press on advertising our city.
