^^ I'd love to see Fairmont bring in some brick and stone! I will die if it's all glass.

Here's a future shot from that great night shot posted in the top 10 thread.

Someone asked for a shot with 300 Front Street to see how it will fit in behind Rogers Centre. Well, that's about all you'll get from the island. I made it bright to reflect the ridiculous roof lighting reflecting from the dome.

Also in the shot:Completed Ritz, Shangri-la, ICE I and ICE II, Trump, a little sliver of L Tower and Success II.

(Original courtesy malechite on Flikr http://www.flickr.com/photos/malechite/ )

[Note 1: Night shots are very difficult! I had to draw in all the lighted windows for Ritz, RBC Centre, Maple Leaf Square, and Success I and II. PLus add all their reflections in the water! YIKES!!!!
Note 2: To easily view the changes, copy and save each image, then open with Picture Viewer and flick back and forth between images.]

Here's a peek at Trump from King and Bay. I hope they do a better job with the cladding then I did!

Traynor, just noticed your rendering is a little off on second inspection. There is precast at the corners of the all glass section. And it looks as though there will be precast concrete around a line surrounding the construction elevator hoist. Hope I'm wrong, but it doesnt look like it.

my bad. Just double-checked and you're good.

3D's rendering at UT / Then I just made an adjustment for the newer hieght at 70 floors.

Actually Cal, I think the granite may rise higher on the South facade than it does on the West side (maybe in a stepping-up fashion to the East and under the balconies.) However, I have never seen a rendering of the South facade, so I was just taking a stab at it!

I really only did it to give an impression of what King and Bay will look like soon. I'm sure I'm way off but time will tell.

Here's another angle of Trump, this time using one of Caltrane's original photographs. I had to add some sky and fudge the buildings on the side to fit Trump in the shot.

^That's some fancy renderwork!

The Audi R8 was a nice touch! One drove by me on my street here in Ottawa last week... That's the cost of a nice condo rolling on four wheels!

I love how the Bow will look from this angle. As Steveve would say it's EPIC!

2015 to 2020 would be the best guess. And if it is 2020, there will be alot more buildings in there. But most of our biggest projects should be done by 2014.

That's strange, for some reason I thought the skyline would extend to the West of CN tower, but I see the opposite in this rendering. I see little change in the western part of the skyline in fact and a monstruous boom in the East end.

I think it is because you are looking at the skyline from the south east, so you are seeing the skyline as it stretches northward. You are way off centre (east) in this image. I believe the skyline really does stretch much greater to the west of downtown. I guess it is just a perspective thing allowing you to visualize the complete length of the skyline - but i should let a Torontonian chime in to correct me.....

Yea, Biff is right. Its the perspective from the south east that is giving you that impression. Most of the new buildings in that render will be constructed on Bay and Yonge Streets headingnorth.

The skyline will never look like that. There's a fair amount of visions and languishing proposals drawn. There's also been many new 40+ storey towers proposed since it was drawn.

Someone posted a image of Trump from the old 70 storey proposal at UT AFTER I drew my render. It was an image I had never seen before and it showed the south face.

(From a post by Toto at UT)

It shows the granite rising higher than the west facade, balconies that are more asymmetrical and covered in granite, plus various additional setbacks.

So I took all that in to consideration an reworked my render:

Trump from the West. Also finished in the shot: FCP re-clad, TIFF and Ritz.
