Incredible shots! And I LOVE the green hills this (brief) time of year. Another reminder of how lucky I am to live here. Thanks!

That's the replacement for the western span of the SF-Oakland Bay Bridge. After the 1989 earthquake damaged the existing bridge, it was decided to build a new one between Oakland and Yerba Buena Island rather than retrofit the old one. They did retrofit the other half, from Yerba Buena to SF, which is a suspension span. The new half will be a self-anchored suspension span also (that's the actual suspension part they are working on now). Suspension bridges do better in earthquakes.

I'll add to the general awe and approval for all the pictures.

Ahh, I can't wait to go to SF. Something tells me I could live there. Only SF, Vancouver, Paris, and New Orleans pull me in this much. Great pics; especially the first one, just beyond the Golden Gate shows the city's density marvelously. Thank you so much.

I work as a systems operator doing aerial surveying. I get plenty of time during lines to snap some shots out the office window. All I use it my Nikon S4 point and shoot. I end up having to photoshop them a lot, and I really don't take the time to do it like I really should, so they don't come out quite as clear, but it's the only way to cut through the haze.

Here's one I did trying tilt shift.
