Got confirmation that this tower is 43 stories, 130m. Starts in the winter now.

More stories and shorter? That's going to be some pretty uninspiring units with barely an eight foot ceiling.

^ I don't think it was shrunk any, I just don't think anyone ever had an accurate number before now.

Fingers crossed we see it rise soon. That will go along way to filling in what should be a fairly important corner... Just kinda hate a bit how the YMCA turns its back on its street potential, but I get it when you are trying to cram a full-sized pool and gym complex into what is especially a handful of small lots and build it on a very small budget...

Wow those are going to be very thin floor plates of this is correct . Pearl came in at 3.36m per floor Ultima at 3.375 this would be at 3m even counting the crown extensions on top of building I suspect that info is wrong and it is right at 143 m which went to the dp for zoning.

^ 138 was the DP, not 143. Incidentally, 138 is 452 ft as opposed to 425, so maybe my source transposed those last two digits.

The dp in nov of 15 was a height increase to 138 meters and a floor count to43 from 40. Then in april of this year they submitted a request to add a additional loft floor and podium mezanine . 130 Meters makes 0 sense since they have added even more floors .

Scale Model Shows Impressive Height of Encore

Quote:
As prospective buyers flow through the Encore Condominiums presentation centre and take a gander at their future living spaces, they'll also notice a large scale model that captures the exterior design of the 40-storey residential tower. To be built by Westrich Pacific, Encore will occupy a prime corner lot at 103rd Street and 102nd Avenue in the epicentre of Downtown Edmonton.

Apparently Encore did apply for a height increase in April, but were refused on unknown grounds:

It's going to the SDAB for appeal on June 28:

I 9:00 A.M. SDAB-D-16-148
To construct an addition (increase of Dwellings
from 179 to 188 units on a new loft floor and
adding an interconnected mezzanine floor that
connects to the General Retail Use units within
the main floor podium; and adding a penthouse
mezzanine floor within the Dwelling unit on the
40th floor); and to construct exterior and interior
alterations to a mixed-use development
Apartment Housing and main floor General
Retail Uses. (This is a revision to Development
Permit numbers 134240188-001 and
134240188-003). (Encore Condominiums)

Checked up on this one; apparently the previously-denied increase in units was not an increase in height to the tower, but only to add a floor to the podium. Tower will still be 138m.

SDAB approved the change:

Still chugging along with permitting. Hoping for a spring 2017 start. Perhaps the most key lot to develop in the downtown currently.

I updated the thread title to reflect the increase in height and number of floors.
