April will be the month this tower starts being the tallest in NYC once again. The media better be all over this. It's been 10 years since the city had a successor to the ESB,not that it's bad,but New York is a growing city and it needs a new symbol.

I want to see HD documentaries GALORE on this when it tops out.

You know what would be the coolest thing ever? For them to make an IMAX movie about it!

That HAS to go up to floor 101, no way that's one floor.

EDIT: Sorry, it won't let me post directly to the Tower 1 camera, you'll have to click on the button at the bottom.

We are up to the 101st floor! I think that we are now at 1,254'2'' which makes 1WTC the city's tallest (ESB is 1,250').

We have been waiting for this particular moment for more than 10 years. It's been too long... but now ...

... The World Trade Center strikes back!!

The article that SupertallSkyline88 supplied us with was written on March 19. It said, "One World Trade Center which, now at 93 floors tall (1,208 feet), is set to surpass the height of the ESB in as little as four weeks."

But it hasn't been anywhere near 4 weeks yet?
I mean.. Since this was written 3 days ago when the tower was 1,208 ft, did we make amazing progress and shoot up to 1,254 ft in just 3 days?

I guess the question I am trying to ask is, "Are we really already at the 101st floor now?"

Is it OFFICIAL that One World Trade Center is now the tallest structure in the city of New York?

Conditions are good right now. The weather is warm so the workers aren't freezing, and the wind is light or nonexistent and they can raise lots of steel that way. We didn't get this during the winter, but we have it now, and it is good news if it happened.

Remember the PA only counts a floor when its fully completed, its possible that's it is up to the 101 floor but we need a official confirmation, but i still think 1 wtc is up to the 100 floor.

If they are 40' tall from the splices on floor 93 at 1,212' Then we are now 1,252'

Damn, those things look even bigger from this angle. Those are easily three floors (again, there are three mounting brackets for floor beams - what's the technical term for that, BTW?). We were at 93 before, so that takes us to 93M, 100, and finally 101, and the splices are just above where the deck for 101 would be if 101 extended to the perimeter.

So yeah, I'm going with 101 unless we get official confirmation otherwise.

We have confirmation. The Empire State Building is now the second tallest building in New York City. One World Trade Center is now the tallest building in New York City. The World Trade Center is once again home to the tallest buildings in the city.

We have all waited so long for this! It's so thrilling to see the World Trade Center reclaim its title! We are getting closer! Beating the ESB again is a HUGE moment!! I'm thrilled.
