I wonder what people on this forum think about this picture. It's seems to fit right in with the taller building surrounding it.
Funny when I stopped and looked up I had the same thought. Everyone was so down on the hotel but now if you didn't know better you might even think it is all the same development. Seems to fit right in like a piece of a puzzle.

Well, it did look terrible as a stand alone, definitely better now.

Introducing Sozou: the first in a series of chef-driven concepts that will be announced for Spring Quarter, Portman’s premier mixed-use development transforming an entire city block in Midtown Atlanta.

Sozou, the culinary creation of Chef Fuyuhiko Ito, will activate the ground floor of 1020 Spring St, Spring Quarter’s new Class-A office tower, and feature an Omakase concept on the 8th floor rooftop. Set to open in November 2024, the restaurant will push the boundaries of contemporary Japanese cuisine and “play an important role in making Spring Street Midtown’s newest dining destination,” said Chef Ito.

Stay tuned for more updates, as we gear up to reveal the anchor tenant for The Patterson!

The amenities on the top floor are now open. Pretty great. Portman really put some thought it to this one to make sure it stands out from the dozens of other apartment high-rise being built.

However, having to exit onto the busiest parts of 10th and Spring Street sucks.

But this hotel is still incredibly ugly.

You've discovered the reason why artists don't want anyone to see their works until they're finished. Context means everything, but we tend to judge emerging areas against mature ones that were built out long ago. And we tend to judge each new building harshly, ignoring economic realities and the paradox that if everything is special then nothing is special. We often deride the lesser parts as cheap while we praise the whole as "a fabric." All the great cities grew up over time, and we've got ringside seats to watch Atlanta's explosive growth. The next generation will never know what they missed!

The cladding on the deck is moving fast. As is the glass curtain wall.
