Does anyone know has there been any work done on the 222 South Main hole or is it still the same?

Maybe we can end up like Boise with a makeshift public pool (only after it rains though)

I saw it on Saturday. Its still a big hole in the ground. Except it was covered in snow! That is the biggest we've seen in a long time

In an ever changing world, I take comfort in knowing that Hamilton Partner's aand their way of doing things will never change.

... really though these guys took the moral of the tortoise winning the race a little too seriously.

That is the contact for the tower. I sent an email today inquiring about its lack of progress. No reply as of wet. I wonder if he's been busy exchanging words with Rocky? Maybe they are threatening to pull out again if they don't get there funding from the city.

Salt Lake City high-rise office is 20 percent leased, 2 years before completion

November 29, 2007
http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/2007/11/29/3130648.htm

A high-rise office building under construction at 222 S. Main St. in downtown Salt Lake City already is about 25 percent leased even though tenants won't be able to move onto the property for another two years.

"Right now we've got a hole in the ground and more prep work to do," said Bruce Bingham, a principal at the Chicago-based Hamilton Partners. "Once that is completed, though, we will be able to go vertical, probably in late winter."

Bingham said the success of Hamilton Partners' high-rise project in downtown Salt Lake City may have a "ripple effect" and eventually lead to the construction of additional new class A buildings downtown. "For now though, we would just as soon have that [niche] to ourselves."

Skyward stretch
22-story office tower on Main Street
It's a 'hole in the ground' now, but aims for top-flight tenants

So from reading that story it sounds like we could start to see a crane and steal beams pop up on that site by this upcoming Spring time.

Thanks for clarifying that time-table Viper, I feel much better now. I was beginning to get caught up again in the Hamilton funk. With Hamilton it's easy to get wrapped up into an emotional spiral, LOL.

A model of the office tower planned for 222 South Main St. in Salt Lake City. Hamilton Partners recently broke ground on the project. The building's anchor tenant will be the Denver-based law firm Holland & Hart. (Trent Nelson/The Salt Lake Tribune)

I was downtown last Saturday, and ran by 222 to check out the hole. It's getting pretty big. I'd say there's been progress. I didn't have a camera with me, but I wouldn't be surprised to see concrete by January.

Of course, given Hamilton, I wouldn't be surprised to see a big hole by June.

There actually was a concrete truck in the hole yesterday. But I didn't see any concrete this morning so it must have just been a little... well I don't know what, but something underground that was then buried or is not visible from the road. Hopefully they keep going at the current pace and don't take another month off before continuing.

That's good news. But Christmas is next week so I'm sure these guys will take another month off.

Hey today I had an appointment on the 15th floor of the One Utah Center and looked over to see what was going on with this project, and there were workers there and a few were operating excavating machinary. Has work continued again?
