HOUSTON: Metro Rail Gets Back on Track tomorrow

http://swamplot.com/metro-rail-gets-...09/#more-31293

Quote:
Has it really been 10 whole years since any new tracks have been laid for any Houston light-rail lines? Not exactly. It’s been 9 years and 11 months. To celebrate the occasion, Metro is holding a small ceremony tomorrow to place the concrete base for the very first tracks on the new Southeast, or “Purple” line.

It would have been on track a year ago if they didnt have a scandal about the funding.

Well it looks like Houston is building momentum to get this done. This is two weeks old but didn't see it posted.

Will this only be enough for the three lines currently under construction or will it also in addition to those three help build the most important line which is the university line?
