Los Angeles, Space Shuttle Rollover / Flyover 2012

Check out these Space Endeavor on it's final piggy back flight over Los Angeles area. Too bad it was delayed by a day because the weather was perfect the day before, the day of the flyover was quite hazy. These pix where taken from Kenneth Hahn State Park in Baldwin Hills. This is a great place to go take in the view on a clear day. This park was a better deal than going to the Griffith Observatory and fighting the huge crowds. It was free and there was only little over a dozen friendly people plus the shuttle flew right over us. We got on the 405 fwy and drove just a few miles to see it fly over LAX too, which it did two times before finally landing. Major WOW! factor. I will be back to post the ground pix of the slow two day trip to the California Science Center.

These pictures were taken during the 2010 Academy Awards as the blimp flew over Hollywood with snow capped mountain in the background. Santa Barbara Island can be seen on this day in the beyond view. Just to show what a clear day would have looked like.

The Great Celebration as Space Shuttle Endeavour Rolls over Los Angeles. Choreographed by Debbie Allen. Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza.

Where it all happened; The Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Shopping Plaza. Blimp and Squadron flyover. Hell Yeah!

...And now the ENDEAVOUR SPACE SHUTTLE!

Don't Hurt Me!

...Chasing Tail ...Got Tail

Blowing for Tail.

Anybody got a can of people repellent

Baby Got Back!

Cool, it was interesting to see so many people out looking up for this aircraft to pass over the neighborhood. I was watching it on TV and as it passed over the Queen Mary I could hear it heading towards my place just about 6 blocks away. So I immediately stepped outside onto the patio and there were people up and down my street with their cameras taking photos.

Unfortunately I couldn't see it since I live on the bottom floor of a 4 story building, and my patio is enclosed. I was too lazy to run across the street, but it flew directly over my condo and it was loud.

Thanks for these historical shots of the Space Shuttle Fllyover!

Very special moment, indeed! You´ve captured it formidably. It doesn´t matter the poor visibility.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain!
