Fantastic skyscraper in Toronto was the tallest in the British Empire for a while..

Here are some pictures I have taken over the years of my favorite skyscrapers downtown Vancouver:

My favorite building downtown, Bental 5 (with several other Bental buildings in its reflection)

Pacific Rim under construction with the Shaw Tower behind it. This is one of my favorite urban street views in all of Canada

I forget the name of this tower currently, but it has a very Gotham City feel to it.

The Marine Building (I know it is not a skyscraper, but it is impressive in its own way, and once dominated the Vancouver skyline)

And of course, Hotel Vancouver.

Haha nailed it! I actually made the decision to register a few days ago after seeing all these fellow UTers posting..

I had been an outside viewer for a while beforehand, quite like I did with UT actually..

Nice shots Metro. I am loving all these shots of the old historic skyscrapers. The tallest historic building in Edmonton is probably the Hotel Mac with 11 floors:

This is the CWB tower in Edmonton and a detail, the detail looks like one of those optical illusions where the vertical lines appear curved:

this is just too wonderful of a tower. New York would love to have this gem. love the big heads at the top.

This is a true beauty. Unfortunately hidden from most views. I got a good look at it when I stayed on the 49th floor of One King West.

i currently live in North Battleford Sask. here is a link to our cities tallest tower. i think it looks pretty good for a city this size. there are a few condos that near match it in hight but they are ugly.

Behold in all it's majestic ugliness. The London Courthouse Building. In Slabsville (London), Ontario. Nobody knows concrete better. Nooobody!!

As a general rule I don't like concrete towers but I have to confess I love the London Court House. If it were an office, residence, hotel etc then it wouldn't work but as a court house I think it's great. It looks strong, commanding, authoritarian at the fork of the Thames.
I like the fact that it isn't warm and fuzzy welcoming. I like that it has a strong stature to it.
London, unfortunately, excels at concrete high rises but I like both the design and sense of presence that this one has.

Exactly! I couldn't agree more. I mean, this is a perfect example of when Brutalism should be used ,imo.
