I just wanna say thank you to all y'all who've been posting lately because this thread was nearly dead for a while, and I've been hoping to get more regular updates from Charlotte. Its urban transformation, along with other sprawling Southern metropolises, has been fascinating to me.

Oh, Bigstick - stick a fork in it.

Everybody knows Charlotte is not Atlanta, and neither is Atlanta Chicago, LA, San Francisco or New York City.

Stop with the city vs city crap.

I think Charlotte's skyline is starting to become one of the best in the US, truth be told. It's got a nice balance, density, height, greenery, etc. I could see some people arguing it's creeping up into the Top 10. But I'm not starting a war about comparisons.

End of the day, the skyline is looking great. Very proud to see Charlotte's growth!

Sidenote: I really dig this roof terrace design at the RailYard.

Charlotte is our little sister just up the road, and I'm very happy to see her prosper. Charlotte is doing many things right, and Uptown is totally unrecognizable from 10 years ago.

You go, girl!

That hotel looks classical! I love that courthouse expansion too. Looks like they really care about the aesthetic, and not tacking on a dumb glass box because "modernism." Amen!

Drove over to the LevineLand section of uptown to check on his concrete. This continues to be a total disaster

And a bonus shot of Uptown 550. Still hate the sign but LOVE the balconies

It is the quality of a city and not the quantity of a city that matters. Being as populated as Atlanta is not a concern. We are certainly in no race.

Just think it’s too big and a little cheap looking. Still, this project turned out really well.

😁 " THANKS!... I understand and pictures don't always ' tell the whole story ' . Uptown Charlotte is so fortunate to have such booming and stunning development and You're right. This project did turn out well."

I like this building. The logo doesn't bother me too much. Where is the building located?

Stonewall Street at the Nascar Hall of Fame intersection.

I'm not a fan of the signage myself, but in general I don't like signs near top of buildings. I love that the major towers like Duke Energy Center, Bank of America Corp., Hearst, etc. don't have them at the top. Keeps the skyline more pleasing imo.

However on positive note, this sign lights up at night.

After the conclusion of the NBA All-Star Game next month, they are slated to start construction on the convention center expansion a block away. I hope they start on the pedestrian bridge first, it would be a great place to view future construction at South Tryon.

Posted by RDF on UP.

Missing Brooklyn Village, but otherwise seems complete (though shouldn't RailYard & Dimensional Place be listed? It is debatable). Can barely see FNB from this angle. Wonder if there is plan for another building on Duke II site...large enough. Since Childress Klein is the developer...thinking residential but I would prefer a hotel since it is across from the convention center.

This is impressive! Once this is all complete, Charlotte will have an insanely beautiful skyline (not that it doesn't already). But this takes it up to another level, for sure!!!

To get the full affect, you need to minimize the photo though to 25% so you can see the full skyline. It really is stunning.

Hey look after setting an account up 6 years ago I finally reset my password

The hotel in the foreground is going to be constructed modular so the once the floors start rolling in it should go up pretty quick.

Home2Suites is the hotel that has it's exterior topped out, the modular hotel is going to be an Even Hotel
