More action in the west end; this one is a bona fide loft, too:

I liked this very much; the building is nice looking, and while I haven't gotten much of a view of the interior, from what I've seen it seems like it has character.

(Side note: I hope you guys don't mind that I'm sharing my photos).

Is this a completed project? The pic from 2009 and 2013 don't look any different?

It's been completed for about a year or two, I believe? I walked by last year and construction was done, with people already moved in.

What? I guess it's odd to see how a heritage building should be treated as opposed to the Ottawa way where we either a. make a ridiculous looking expansion, b. tear it down and rebuild one wall, c. tear it down and build a rough replica of a wall or, my personal favourite, d. tear it down and put up a plaque that states a well built heritage building use to stand here before it was torn down for this new piece of s***.

I'm all for reviving and renewing heritage buildings, but I would have thought maybe the wood frame windows maybe have been replaced at the very least. I guess/I hope that the attention was paid to the interior, cause the exterior sure didn't get much of a face lift.

As people have said, it was more about rejuvenating an existing heritage building and giving it another purpose. However, as you can see from Hintonburg Park and the community building, it looks like they added an additional floor on top (or mechanical roof?) that is essential hidden from below.
