Weird that they have the plaza installed already.. It's going to be driven all over and put through tons of stress while they build. Gonna need a good power washing before opening day in 2-3 years!

I think that's the plaza, looks like stone pavers. Could be wrong.

That's definitely not the plaza, the real plaza will have redwoods installed, which will probably take months to root and plant. They might be still be stone pavers, though..can't tell. Seems odd that they wouldn't just pour a layer of concrete and rip it up in a few years.

Great angle botoxic, please keep them coming if you can. Amazing what builders can do in going up 1,070 ft above that size footprint.

Drove down Fremont on Saturday night and they must have been doing a major dig as there were trucks lined up to haul away dirt all the way to Folsom.

If those pavers are existing from the old Transbay Terminal, then it makes sense it was kept as a handy surface for a work staging area. Then it may not be part of the final construction.

Thumbs up Newby here...

I'm new to this bulletin board.
Question: When will we see this building begin to rise above ground?

This building is about 4 months behind 181 Fremont (which is almost to street level)... so watch that thread and then count down!

I really like the use of the large coniferous trees. Not too keen on the statue though...

Picture taken by instagram user johnsabatino.
According to the caption on his instagram, there's 10 more feet to go before it can be turned over to the ironheads.

At least the weird statue will be constructed of elements that were there previously. http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/place/...ub-2389466.php

I wonder if Salesforce will keep the same name after they are bought out? I also wonder if who ever acquires them will honor the lease on this building.

Its not a given the Salesforce will be bought out, they're only inquires into buying them. It would be a $50 billion transfer, which would be the highest on record books. However from what I've heard it seems to me Salesforce could be worth twice as much in 5 or 10 years because its growing so fast. Competitors in Silicon Valley are right to be concerned. Although I think Salesforce would also be cutting itself short by 10s of billions of dollars if it did sell.
