I also love the old Ottawa Sens theme song. In the early 90s there would be a man walking down the aisles of the civic centre playing this with a sax. Always gives me chills.

Stompin Tom Connors had the song "Carolyne" which was about Timmins. Timmins is where his singing career first took off.

I also hear some older people singing this song by him about Rouyn (now Rouyn-Noranda, QC)

I always liked that one... it really conveyed the gritty spirit of a mining town in its resource extraction heyday.

Yes, this is the relatively new one.

I thought you were going to post Les Canadiens sont là!

I am sure SSP hockey fans are familiar with the tune, even if they do not know the words.

Detroit Rock City by Kiss, being that we are honorary Metro Detroiters, lol.

Now that I think of it when I've listened to the games on the radio recently it's been on Unique FM in French. They definitely use that music.

I've only very sporadically listened to them in English on The Team 1200 AM. Haven't noticed there - either way.

Correction. Turns out it was trumpet, not sax. His name was Carmelo Scaffidi, he unfortunately passed away last year:

Embarrassing old one, never official. "On the streets of old St. John's, nothing seems to matter but the song..."

I've never seen or heard that before. I like it. It's melancholic and evocative, especially with the attendant video.

A few years ago, a local group called Destroy All Robots recorded "Battle Hymn of the City of Kitchener" as part of the "Stirling Avenue Hymnal." I find it outdated: "Kitchener, Kitchener, of all the things I did to forget her, you were the worst, Kitchener. This city is so bombed-out, it looks like Berlin."

I imagine the closer thing Kitchener has to an anthem would be "Ein Prosit"...

If you don't care for Toronto, its anthem would be "The Toronto Song" by (I think) Dead Trolls in a Baggie.

I can confirm the song you are referring to is still played in the rink at Senators home games. I heard it during the game on Saturday.

Between 0:22 and 0:26 in that Toronto video, there's a slow pan of a garbage-strewn alley. Odd choice, cinematographically speaking.
