I had the pleasure of spending a few days in Halifax recently. Great city. I took a bunch of pics, some of them are posted here: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=183738

I have more from residential areas that I will be posting sometime in the next week or two.

Thanks. I think people on the forum will enjoy the neighbourhood photos when I post those too. I tooks some shots in the North End and a few in the South End to demonstrate the residential vernacular of Halifax.

These look great. You must have been in the exact same location for both (just one year apart).

It makes me wonder why the Heritage Trust thinks that people dislike skyscrapers but many of the pictures on Flickr and virtualtourist include buildings like Purdy's Wharf and 1801 Hollis.

I've said that many times! How often do you see post cards of Halifax featuring either the downtown skyline, or the Purdy's buildings up close. Nearly always!

Dartmouth:
Once King's Wharf (several highrises including a 32 storey tower) and one other high rise development (17 and 24 storeys) are complete then the Dartmouth Skyline will be much more impressive. It will take about 5 years to complete (the second one hasn't been approved yet).
