lol thanks.. I don't know how long I'll stay the man.. this city does a horrible job of encouraging good developers.. so often people complain about bad developers, and the good ones get grouped in.. just serves to kill any good will.

I'm hoping that the new council and mayor will help change that grouped-in negative attitude. Joe.. you're the best!

Yes, people frequently complain about poorly planned designs and poor quality products, as is evident on this forum from most of the users.

We have high hopes for the Fenwick redevelopment. Glad to have you with us for these discussions.

Please, Joe, keep the faith... I have said it before, that I wonder how developers manage to get anything done in this city with all the red tape and I congratulate all the developers that stick with it in this city. I feel Halifax has great potential and I am glad we have the people such as yourself who are willing to help Halifax grow and prosper. I can't wait to see the "Fenwick" redevelopment proceed. Stick with it, we are behind you all the way.

Just some quick ideas for the renaming. I'll post others as I think of them;

Dominance/Importance in Skyline;

- Southern Sky
- South Peak
- Harbour Tip

Natural/Manmade Features

- Freshwater Place
- Ravine Brook
- Ravine Place
- Hilltop Plaza
- Hilltop Square
- Hillside Square
- The South Wall
- Cross Plaza

This building's suppressed surroundings leads me to believe it will be the tallest in its area for many many years to come. With that in mind, given the sturdy appearance and curved roof, and how its residents don't have tall neighbours to block any of their daylight:

The Sundail.

Thanks for the names..

I think to better focus the submissions, we are looking to do one of the following:
- play on words between the actual building architecture/features
- a non-english language name that translates into a relevant name in english
- a modern twist to the existing fenwick tower

don't know if that makes any sense but that's where we want to focus the direction of the name.

thanks

I think Greenbank Tower would be a nice homage to the former neighborhood.

I think "The Warden" would be a great name too, though Im not sure if it matches what Joe & company are looking for.

I haven' t been to the top floor of Fenwick Towers since high school, approximately 1974 or 1975 (pre-digital, old school days on film - everyone is saying what is that?) I wish I had some pictures from way back then to compare. Are there any more rooftop pictures to show?

If only the picture was slightly more to the left, so we may see the new library.

Date on the last image is Nov 14, 2009. I don't think it will be returning at this point.
