PHILADELPHIA | Temple University Morgan Hall | 27 Floors | 312 feet

Title: Morgan Hall
Project: 1,500 student beds, 3 story retail complex
Architect: MGA Partners
Developer: Temple University/ LF Driscoll Co.
Location: Broad St. and Cecil B. Moore Ave., Philadelphia, PA
Floors: 27
Height: 312 ft

I figured this deserved a thread as well. This is not in Center City (Philadelphia's Central Business District), but it is still considered a high rise. Plans call for a 26 floor high rise at 312 feet, a 3 story retail complex branching off of the tower and an 8 story residential complex with a courtyard in the middle and an underground parking garage. This is currently under construction on the corner of Broad St. and Cecil B. Moore ave. on the Campus of Temple University in Lower North Philadelphia. The foundations are complete and concrete has begun to pour for it's underground parking garage.

I'm doing some math and this building looks like it will come out somewhere around 300ft. Thats assuming 12ft celings like the last round of residence halls.

it should still have an impact on the skyline from certain vantage points at that height

They are still mostly pouring foundations but the forms and rebar for the bathtub are begining to appear.

We should see this rising shortly, walked past it today. Any word on who will be taking the retail spots?

South Gateway will probably be Morgan Hall.

I hope this works, I've never used Google's URL shortener before...

Article came with the usual South Gateway Morgan Hall render, below:

Tower crane--behind some tree branches. I had exited on that side en route to academic advising.

own work

Crane + concrete nozzle thingy + superstructure works (note rebar). Taken looking west from about Liacouras Walk/Park Ave. and Cecil B. Moore

They were still on the second floor as of yesterday... I believe the unbearably cold weather halted most construction for the past few days

Steel for the 8 story L-Shaped extension is starting to rise.

You get a pretty good idea of the amazing view residents will have from the south side.
