The Austin Auto Show is this weekend at the convention center, and they're going to have an Ecto-1 (Ghostbusters car) replica, a Delorean from Back to the Future, "Kit" from Knight Rider and the Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo. Anyway, being the nerd that I am, I'm going to go.

Normally when the Convention Center is open for events like that, you can access those terraces on the third and fourth floors, so hopefully you can get some good skyline shots while you're there.

Here's some I took in 2009.

well, I didn't make it up to the terrace level - maybe next time, but I did get my photo taken with Ecto-1. Granted the car isn't a '59 like the one in the movie and is instead a '60, but it was still really accurate. And it's BIG.

And speaking of Dan Aykroyd connections, he's going to be at the Long Center with Jim Belushi performing as the Blues Brothers on May 16.

Tickets are $55.

The Rooster Teeth convention that only started in 2011 is becoming a large annual event.

Hahaha....awesome. Sucks to be you guys. In all honesty though, I hope it's not as bad as it probably will be. Just don't leave your homes.

I have to work Downtown at my non-SXSW related job most days including weekends during this year's SXSW, and I am seriously not looking forward to the awful mess.
