I brought my young son to the Coliseum for Def Leppard for his first concert.
Great show despite the horrid accoustics.

Def Leppard with Tesla

7/12/19 Halifax, NS – Scotiabank Centre
7/13/19 Moncton, NB – Avenir Centre

Good thing that this fall on a weekend, but it also falls on the closing weekend of the Quebec Summer Festival, which means a lot of people in the Maritimes will wait to see who'll be playing.

It's definitely gonna sell well, but it will be spread across winter/spring as the concert schedule grow with more announcements.

Little facts about Def Leppard

When they'll play their concerts in July, they will tie for most arena concerts for an international artists in both Moncton (Moncton Coliseum and Avenir Centre combined) and Halifax (Forum and Scotiabank).

This will be the 6th time they play the Maritimes (88, 93, 96, 2000, 2003). This will tie with Chris de Burgh in Halifax, and Supertramp for Moncton.

By looking at the seating chart, it looks like the Moncton Def Leppard show has sold over 50% on pre sales only, the tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, I expect it will be a sellout!

Did anyone get the presale link/code yet? I never received anything yet, and it's 11am, the time presale goes on sale.

Well, I finally got the email. Unfortunately, if you are NOT a Def Leppard fan club member, you can not buy a ticket today without being one. Cost is an additional $63. Looks like I'll wait for another presale later this week, or wait for Friday's general public sale.

FYI, most of bowl seats are in the $150 range.

I can buy my ticket today without being a member , it shows me 2 option

1: venue pre sale

2ef leppard fan club membership pre sale

There no different in price between both

Edit: it shows the same price it seem at first but fan club membership pre sale is 63$ more compare to venue pre sale

I was able to bring up lots of tickets through both the venue & live nation presales, but nothing worth purchasing. There was lots of confusion with the Avenir Centre presale. It started at 11, yet I didn't receive the email with the password until around 11:30. Someone had posted it on Facebook before that though, but I still couldn't bring up anything decent.
I can still bring up tickets now using the codes, but a lot of people I guess just didn't understand how to enter it? People on FB were saying it wouldn't work for them.

Looks like Moncton is sold out (except scalpers and vip). Cant say for Halifax (because of the ticket system), but I know I cant get 8 tickets in a row.

I knew it was gonna sell well, but sold out in a matter of hours wow! I would have thought that people would have waited to see what's gonna happened during the summer (either here or nearby festivals).

But given that it's been 15 years since they played here...I guess the crowd was anxiously waiting, just by reading comments on how many people were making trips to Bangor, Montreal, Quebec City or Toronto to see them.

Good to see some of these shows selling really well. The Bryan Adams show Tuesday night is pretty much sold out as well.

I'm not going to Def Leppard, but went on at 10 anyways just to see what kind of seats i could bring up. Had 5th row aisle seats (right next to the catwalk) in my cart. It was tough letting them go haha.

Hmmm

Luke Bryans website just had an August 9th date listed for the Magnetic Hill concert site and it was quickly taken down. Perhaps someone jumped the gun on a concert announcement for tomorrow?

If it's true, it's an interesting choice.

He's huge right now, and if there's a genre that is popular in the East Coast is Country, but he just played Cavendish last Summer (sold out concert), so this will definitely take a hit in tickets sale.

The magic numbers (if my source were correct) are around 35-40k. Which is the number of tickets "sold" needed to start thinking of not being in the red.

Can Luke get to those numbers?
Maybe if:

1)There's good opening acts (Every Hill shows, there's always a good portion of "The price is not worth it if it's only (insert headliner)" comment going around). For some reason, people in the East Coast seems to be hesitant to pay the big bucks for a concert if there's no "good" opening acts.

2) Will depends if the Quebec Summer Festival also got him at the beginning of July. With a couple of shows in the US East Coast, promoters will have to hope that the Ottawa/Quebec country fans make the trip (been 3 years since he played there). The ACDC show in 2015 took a major hits compared to the 1st time, and one of the reason was because of the Quebec City show. Back in 09, a good chunk of them went to Moncton instead of Montreal cuz they didnt want to attend a show at the Big O.

The issue with the Possible Luke Bryan show is that he is playing in Bangor the night before to wich I have bought tickets when I heard he was performing at the Darling Waterfront Pavillion. I would assume that many New Brunswickers have bought their tickets for that show. One thing if it’s true it would be a home run for the city plus the starting lineup is great with Cole Swindell and John Langston if they would be following him. The main indicator if there’d was a pending announcement on a concert just watch the prices of hotels and to see if they are filling up.

I took a gander and prices are shooting up that weekend while room availability is dropping like a rock. But that could simply be the market reacting to the rumours.

The hotel rooms filling up is due because of the leak.

Same thing happened when Madonna was rumored to play the Hill back in 2012 (was announced in August 2011),and again a few months later in December when Coldplay was suppose to come for a 2 day festival.

I checked the Bangor show, and there's still plenty of tickets left. Could be because he's playing there every 3 years. If Promoters brings in another acts that is not playing on the normal tour, this could help bring some Maine, NH, crowd.

Quebec Summer Festival is announcing their lineup on April 3rd, so it would best for them to announce it before that, in case they too have Luke, or another big name (I heard they were trying to get Garth Brooks).

Isn't Luke Bryan playing the Bell Centre in Montreal as well this year? If so, I am not sure the province of Quebec as a market can sustain two shows in a year (one in Montreal and one in Quebec City). Garth Brooks is a better bet as he's more of an established "legend".

I am sure he has fans and country in Quebec is always a bit of "sleeper" phenomenon (in that there are more fans than is generally recognized), but he is a galaxy away from being a household name here.

I myself am only vaguely aware of him, and my wife and kids have never heard of him. Neither have any of my friends.

Of course one thing in favour of Luke Bryan is always people from outside Quebec who'd attend a show here as part of a trip to Montreal or Quebec City.
