I feel like Metropolis is moving faster than the Korean Air building. It would be awesome to see both rise simultaneously but at this point Korean Air seems to be far ahead.

Great shot, timpdx. Shoring work is indeed ongoing on the 8th street side, as I've observed the pile driver slowly make it's way east along 8th street on the webcam over the last couple of days.

I really don't quite understand how they either demolished the recently built parking structure and or turned Francisco street into a 10 lane blvd......

I'm sure they just removed the garage (creative license?) for the sake of showcasing the entire frontage of the project. No harm, no foul.

Glorious is right! Some of the steel soldier piles are already in the ground, along Francisco Street, with lagging soon to follow -- and mass excavation for Phase 2!

Thanks for the photos timpdx! This is such a game changing project because of its scale and potential to activate a current dead zone. Really looking forward to how this turns out.

Looks like they're pouring the 2nd level above ground in the core of the Phase 1 condo tower, as well as putting formwork in for the outer support columns of the 1st basement level.

Yes, phase 2 started.

I saw them digging out sand. (Saturday) The Webcam shows the same picture. We will see more progress next week, they deserve a day off now.

So I walked by the land at 11 PM tonight and they were hard at work. It looks like they have dug out about 2-3 floors of dirt in the north part. It seems like they are doing phase three and four at the same time, or at least they are digging the foundation at the same time.

Like I wrote before.. there is no phase 3 or 4.
